Jeffrey Stewart, MS, LPC-S
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from The University of Oklahoma and went on to obtain my Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas. I approach counseling with the belief that we are all seeking to understand truth and a meaningful life. My graduate training was an interactive strengths-based approach to treating creative and gifted adolescents who often felt alienated by value systems beyond their choosing. My goal as a clinician is to help clients understand the origin of their emotional struggle, and in doing so, we will reveal solutions to cognitive dissonance resulting from competing value systems. And while my Christian values inform my understanding of myself and the world around me, I will never impose those values on my clients.
The areas I commonly treat are Anxiety, depression, spirituality, anger, oppositional defiance, and life transitions. My approach is eclectic and strengths-based, drawing from a combination of psychodynamic theories, neuroscience, mindfulness practices, rational emotive behavioral therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
Please feel free to contact me anytime to help you and/or your family members resolve the conflict within. We all have the potential to create, but not all create based on their potential. I seek to help you unearth that potential.
